DESCRIPTION:Monday 01 to Friday 12 November: COP 26\, the 2021 UN Climate Change ‘Conference of Parties’ in Glasgow \nThere are sure to be various local and national events while COP26 is running\, and our regular Forum meeting on Tuesday 08 November falls within its duration.  We may be able to have an on-the-spot progress report if any of our members have been to Glasgow … \nWe hope that there will be a high profile public meeting in Chester following COP26 to look at its implications both globally and locally.

SUMMARY:Deep Water Rising
DESCRIPTION:Saturday 30 October\, 4:30 – 6pm at The Old Dee Bridge Chester: “Deep Water Rising” \nMembers of the community are invited to come and make a noise as part of a family friendly global rally before the start of the COP26 conference\, to encourage politicians to do the right thing.  There will be drumming and singing from 4:30 to 5:30\, then torches and candles will shine out on to the bridge and the river.  At 5:55\, there will be a countdown to a 2-minute silence tlo allow people to reflect on the lives lost due to climate change\, and the damage done to our precious planet.  At 6pm\, church bells will ring out across the country in the Church of England “Ring for the Climate” initiative\, and everybody is invited to make a noise wherever you are.  You’ve clapped for the NHS\, so now “Clang for the Climate”. \nDeep Water Rising
