SUMMARY:Sun 24th June - Wirral Coastal Walk
DESCRIPTION:This is to remind everybody about the Wirral Coastal Walk\, which is taking place on Sunday 24th June. This is an organised sponsored walk around the tip of the Wirral Penninsula\, in which CAFOD and many other charities take part. (See www.wirralcoastalwalk.org for background information about the overall event organised by North Wirral Rotary.) \nIn the past fifteen years\, CAFOD walkers have raised over £182\,000.00 to support our work with some of the poorest communities around the world. This year\, proceeds from the walk will go to CAFOD’s general emergency response fund. Money raised through sponsorship can also be increased through Gift Aid for those who are UK tax payers. \nThe walk can be of varying length – 4\, 10 or 15 miles – and is mainly flat\, making it suitable for the very young as well as the not so young! There are toilets en route and parking is available at Seacombe Ferry. Registration of walkers on the day takes place from 8.30am to 10.30am\, also at Seacombe Ferry\, and there is a registration fee of £5.00 per walker. The money raised by the walk will be presented to CAFOD at a charity evening to be held at St Werburgh’s Church Hall\, Birkenhead\, on Friday 28th September. \nSince the walk is organised by an outside body\, it is not an opportunity for CAFOD’s ‘Share the Journey’ campaign walks. It is purely a fundraising event\, always enjoyed by those who take part\, and I do hope you will consider joining it. \nFor further information and sponsorship packs\, please ring 0151 632 5504 or 01244 677594. \nWith very best wishes\, \nKatie Hallows\, Community Participation Coordinator
